i am 4 weeks pregnant now and my husband wants to make love… if its ok to have sex w/ him, untill how many mnths of my pregnancy?

I took a pregnancy test 4 weeks after sex and it came up negative but i feel a little strange – could i still be pregnant? Did anyone test negative at 4 weeks but found out later they were actually pregnant?
I have irregular periods – my last one was in March! so i cannot wait until my next period as it may not arrive at all anyway!

Generally women can test about 2 weeks after conception and get an accurate result. If you seriously think you’re pregnant, then ask the doc for a blood test.

if TTC check out natural-fertility-info.com. Get the fertility cleanse, it gave me my period and helped me ovulate after 2 years of absent period. I also just called my doctor and she said I dont need to come in to confirm it since I took two tests. They will see me at 10 weeks, July 22nd

My prolactin suddenly increased from 6 to 34. I got my period on time last week. We tried on time and am wondering if I could be pregnant inspite of the period. When they checked for prolactin they also checked for fsh, lh and other hormones but not the pregnancy hormone. Would that show up anyway if I were pregnant?
Please answer.

im 3 week week pregnant, my husband and i are not ready for a baby, i heard theres a pill to stop pregnancy. and i know during the 1st weeks of pregnancy – the baby hasnt formed yet. actually its just a spot of blood. and no heart beating and nothing, during the fourth month it is a baby and its forbidden to do an abortion.

i dont wanna kill my baby, so im guessing a pill is okay during first weeks of pregnancy as theres no baby yet.

If you go to a Planned Parenthood clinic that has a low-income program it can be as cheap as 100$. You have the choice between the pill (which can be taken up to 11weeks, at home or at a friends house) or the vacuum method (in clinic procedure). Personally I used the pill method so I could be at home with my husband but some women want to have the surgical, so it’s done and over with when they leave the clinic.

You will be financially screened – usually this goes on the honor system, weight/height taken, blood pressure checked, pricked -fingertip- to check for rH factor and anemia, you will receive an ultrasound or sonogram to determine gestational age. Ok, first of all, I am really confused why my doctor did a 4 week scan. she said it was because I was breastfeeding and I could be further along, but I told her when I ovulated, so whatever.

She did a 4 week scan and we saw nothing. I am supposed to go back in at 7 weeks. What should I expect? With my first child the earliest scan was at 9 weeks and we got a really good picture of my peanut. At 7 weeks, what did yall see, or should I have seen a sac at 4 months?

At 4 weeks your baby is still no larger than the head of a pin. Most doctor’s office ultrasounds do not have the detail to see ANYTHING that early. Fertility clinics frequently have a stronger unit.

With the baby I lost we had a scan at 5 weeks 5 days and saw nothing but a blobby, two weeks later we saw the fetal pole with the heartbeat – but it was still just a blobby with a speck in it. At this stage of development the embryo still doesn’t look like a baby – more like a lumpy worm. A very tiny one. At 10 weeks he looked more like a baby though it was a very short scan (side note: don’t ever get your ultrasound buddies to scan you until you’ve had the "official" scan – they might find something bad – mine did as I mention below and I’ve felt terrible ever since that she was the one who found it).

At 14 weeks 5 days, when we discovered his anomaly (he didn’t develop a skull – I had snuck into ultrasound again to get them to peek at the baby) he looked exactly like a baby – arms, legs, face, belly, heart, etc, and we were thinking he was a boy. Sadly I never got to hold him.

Good luck with your pregnancy, and do NOT worry about not seeing anything at 4 weeks. Doctors never pay attention to us when we tell them when we ovulated, even when we chart temperatures and other body signs as well. The NP at my OBGYN office didn’t believe my charts and wanted to think I was 18 weeks pregnant, when I was, in fact, just over 5 weeks pregnant. After she examined me she sure believed me.

Some people say to abort an embryo during this phase is similar to removing an appendix or like. The embryo has no fully formed organs at this stage and is merely a collection of cells cumulating to develop an organ structure. Brain development at week 4 certainly has begun properly. Does a house exist if only the plot has been chosen? Poor example to measure against life I realise but an embryo is not alive. Dictionary; Life – the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.

The worldly definition of life indicates that an embryo is alive as its cells are growing. Without conciousness is a collection of organs alive? Science says ‘yes’. But then again Science cannot define conciousness or the Soul.

Respectfully, I am opposed to it. I do not agree that an embryo is similar to an appendix, rather it is a very dependent living organism, within another body.

A four week old embryo can be removed from the mother’s womb and kept alive, although it would take much medical efforts. Eggs are fertilized in vitro and implanted in the womb after some growth has taken place. Life has most assuredly has already begun when the first cellular division occurs.

I am not a bible-basher, nor a bible thumper. It is not a matter of belief that an embryo is a living organism rather than a potential living organism, it is a fact. An egg is a living organism, and becomes viable when fertilized, whether this is done in vitro or in utero.

The definition of consciousness is as yet unclear. A four week old embryo does respond to stimuli, so it has some degree of consciousness.
