Do you only lose weight during pregnancy from morning sickness?

I’ve heard of women losing weight during pregnancy but is this only because of morning sickness? I have gained 5 pounds since I found out I’m pregnant (6 weeks) and I’ve read that the first two months are the worst for just about everything! Is there any hope that I won’t gain a trillion pounds ?

during the first trimester some women do loose weight because of morning sickness, but unless you are overweight, frowned upon by the medical field.

The average sized woman should look to gaining 20-35 lbs during her pregnancy, any more is over doing it. It is true that some woman gain more weight and cannot control it, but remember you are not truly eating for two! A baby only needs mom to be healthy and eat healthy. I read somewheres that mommy only needs a couple HUNDRED calories a day in food intake compared to her everyday eating habits, and this isn’t until later in her pregnancy.

There are many MANY workout routines that are designed for pregnant women. Find an exercise routine that you are comfortable with and your doctor approves of and your overweight scare can be avoided icon smile Do you only lose weight during pregnancy from morning sickness?

I’m 14 weeks now and have lost 5 pounds. And no, I had NO morning sickness.
With my 1st pregnancy I gained like 55 pounds…but, I was not as cautious, worked in fast food and ate to much of it. Now? I’m more cautious bout whats going in my mouth.
Also..I have no appetite. I’ll go like 2 days without wanting to eat anything..and lunch will fill me up for the whole day…but then I have 1 day where I want to eat everything in site. LOL so..it’ll even out

They say average women should gain between 25-35 pounds, and overweight women should gain 15-25 pounds. Every woman is dif..and if this is ur 1st pregnancy u tend to gain more anyways. one thing u can do to help is excercise. Walk, swim, etc. Just a lil physical activity every day can help weight.
