Do you have suggestions for ways to deal with pregnancy nausea ?

I have a friend who is now PG with her 4th and she gets nauseous for THE ENTIRE 9 months, anyone have any tricks up your sleeve I could suggest ??? thanks,

If she is that sick the entire time she is probably experiencing hyperemesis, which is treatable through a medication called Zofran. She should definitely consult her ob.

As for non-medical treatments, I found that lemon-lime Gatorade (preferably over crushed ice) and salty pretzels were the only things I could stomach on days I felt really bad- and only small amounts of those. I would also advise that she get plain folic acid pills so that on the days she can’t keep down her complete prenatal vitamin she is still getting the needed folic acid. It is easier to digest than the full-on vitamins. I wish her luck!

btw..she is lucky to have such a good friend who cares about her! icon smile Do you have suggestions for ways to deal with pregnancy nausea ?

I couldn’t eat anything warm or hot… I stuck with lots of iced cold liquids and cold bowls of cereal… And fast food always made me sick… Then mad as well because I just paid for something that I didn’t even really get to enjoy… : (

    hope I helped!

Tell her to talk to her doctor about taking Zofran, it helps with the nausea.

I was always sick. If I got up and ate something in the night I felt better in the morning. I usually ate an apple and some crackers. I also took my prenatal vitamins before I went to bed. I also sucked on lemon drops a lot that really worked.

The only way for sure is not to get pregnant.

    Helpful tips to
    control nausea and vomiting:
    DIET – Food
    • When you first wake up, eat a few crackers and then
rest for 15 minutes before getting out of bed.
    • Get up slowly and do not lie down right after eating.
    • Eat small meals or snacks often so your stomach
does not become empty (for example, every 2
hours). Try not to skip meals.
    • Do not hesitate to eat whatever you feel like eating
and eat whenever you want to. However, it is best to
avoid cooking or eating spicy, fatty and fried foods.
    • If cooking odours bother you, open the windows and
turn on the stove fan. If possible, ask someone else
    to cook the meals.
